Stressors & health risks

The longer the stressor affects you, the greater the risk to your health.

Stressors can influence your mental wellbeing, including leading to anxiety and depression, and can impact your physical health.

In this assessment you rated how different areas in your life contribute to your overall stress level.

The stressor result uses the three areas you rated as most problematic – and the degree to which these areas are worrying you – to give you an idea of your overall stressors and how they're affecting you.

There are two useful ways to tackle stressors which you may find helpful:

  1. Taking steps to remove the problem from your life
  2. Opting to change the way you see the stressor

Removing stressors

To remove or tackle the stressor itself, it may be helpful to make a list of things that are in your control to change. Writing things down can make the issue clearer and having a plan can help you feel more in control.

Change your point of view

Often changing the way you view a situation can really help to reduce the negative impact it has in your life. Cognitive behavioural techniques provide a useful approach to help you manage the way you see a situation and deal with the situation better.

These techniques are easy to learn and you may find them exceptionally valuable in helping to minimise your stressors.
