Pap/Cervical Screening Tests are designed to identify abnormal cells in the cervix, which may indicate a higher risk of cervical cancer.
It's only needed once every 5 years* and once completed, you'll receive 1,000 AIA Vitality points straight away, and in each of the next four consecutive years.
*Effective from 1 December 2017, there have been changes made to the recommended frequency of Pap Smear/Cervical Screening Tests. It is generally recommended that women aged 25 - 74 years of age should have a Cervical Screening Test two years after their last Pap test. Subsequently, women will only need to have the test every five years if their results are normal. However, it is imperative that you speak to your health professional for specific information on how often you should be tested.
The current clinical guidelines advise that you should have a Pap test every 2 years. Based on the new Cervical Screening test guidelines however, if you're deemed to be a low risk you may be able to have the test every 5 years. These are general guidelines only. Speak to your GP about the best testing frequency for your individual circumstances.

No. Once you have the Pap/Cervical Screening Test, you'll earn 1,000 points straight away, and automatically earn 1,000 points for the number of consecutive years following your screening (based on your recommended screening frequency). For Pap tests, you'll earn points for 2 consecutive years; for Cervical Screening Tests, you'll earn points for 5 consecutive years.
I've had a Pap test 3 years ago, can I wait another 2 years until I go for my next test?
